Subforms; A Must-have Feature For A Successful Data Collection Project on BioRegistra

You have a need to collect data, that much we know. You, like 5 million other smart people and businesses in the world are of the school of thought that data is imperative to profitable decision making — the right data that is. Collecting the right data can be daunting, especially if the platform you are using is not up to par with the scope of your project.

BioRegistra is the ideal data capture and forms digitization solution that ensures optimal success in any data capture project. BioRegistra is packed full with features and unique capabilities that enable users to digitize any form and capture all kinds of data, including textual, pictorial, and biometric data, anywhere and at any time even without the internet. One of such feature is the Subform feature.

What are Subforms?

In the simplest term, subforms are secondary forms that are inserted into other forms. The primary form is called the main form or parent form, and the subordinate form that is enclosed in the main form is the subform.

Subforms became an imperative feature on BioRegistra for users whose projects include carrying out continuous evaluation and monitoring on ongoing projects. Take an example of someone working in a health inspection agency and is tasked with carrying out daily health inspections of fast-food restaurants in a particular location. First, the agent would need to create a form (parent form) to collect information such as name, location of restaurants, and more like that. Then, to record the results from daily monitoring, a subform will be created per daily inspectorial visit to record results and findings. These subforms are tied to the parent form and can be seen at a glance.

Benefits of subforms on BioRegistra

User testimonials have shown that subforms make for easier and neater data capture. Even more, analysis becomes clearer and churning the data for decision making becomes faster. Subforms are particularly important when a user wants to show data from multiple tables or queries whose values are linked.

There is no limit to the usage of subforms on BioRegistra. We have had situations where users create more than a hundred subforms under one parent form.

A particular use case is a company using BioRegistra to record the attendance time of their employees. The human resources executive who is the admin on the platform created a simple form that contains the names of each employee and their unique ID, which is the unique identifier that serves as the distinctive feature of each employee. To record the employees’ attendance on a daily basis, the admin creates subforms under the parent form on which the employees record their attendance time. This proved essential to the company, even more as BioRegistra displays the analysis of the records captured on the entire form (parent form and subforms) or per subform.
